Spring Equinox 2022: The interbeingness of Life

Sun enters Aries on March 20, 2022 at 10:34am CST

Happy Equinox, Spring Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere and Fall Equinox in the Southern Hemisphere. I am here in the Northern Hemisphere, experiencing the beginnings of spring.

As the Sun moves into Aries, the initiating fire of life, we have a tightening conjunction between Mercury, Jupiter, and Neptune in Pisces. Pisces is the Cosmic Ocean, the womb of creation, the waters of life. With Mercury, our mental filter, the thoughts that give us an awareness of self versus other, that make us “separate” from others, in the sign of no boundaries, oneness, and unity, in a conjunction with Jupiter and Neptune, we have an amazing opportunity to begin the astrological new year with a sense of our inherent connection with all of Life. When we perceive the Truth that we live in an interconnected universe where nothing is truly separate from anything else, that we are in a state of *interbeingness, we choose to live our lives in a completely different way.

Venus and Mars are still in a conjunction in Aquarius, if indeed it is now separating, and they are both squaring Uranus in Taurus. Our hearts and wills are in a tense aspect with the Great Awakener. Taurus at its core is physical life, the body, the senses, the earth under our feet. Do we honor and value that which having a physical body and a physical experience of life gives us as a soul? Our physical body is a sacred container, the Holy Grail, that which contains the essence of who we are. Uranus in Taurus will demand nothing less than a revolution in how we relate with ourselves, our physical resources, the Earth, and with life. How do we move forward, making our unique contribution to humanity and the world (Aquarius) in the most embodied and grounded way in alignment with our soul values (Taurus)? Add Saturn in Aquarius to the mix as Venus and Mars are each approaching a conjunction with The Great Teacher, and you get an imperative to proceed with responsibility, commitment, and mastery. If you have been doing your Saturn work, then you can proceed building structure in your life with confidence that it will stand the test of time precisely because it is aligned with your soul values.

Saturn in Aquarius is also in a loose Grand Air Trine with Lilith in Gemini and the Moon in Libra. When you are doing your shadow work, you will be rewarded with an ability to better know yourself and your needs and to communicate those needs, which leads to deeper connection, and ultimately, better relationships. When you can connect with others in a deeper and more profound way, from a place of more authenticity and vulnerability, you are able to create things together that would have been impossible for you to create on your own. The air signs progress as your first perceive yourself (Gemini), then your perceive how you relate to others (Libra), and lastly, how you are connected to all of life in a meaningful way (Aquarius).

Saturn is also approaching a t-square with the North Node in Taurus and the South Node in Scorpio. This t-square is a sort of crossroads for each of us individually and also collectively. Saturn rewards those who do the work, but that work requires facing our conditioning, our fears, and our karma (the energy we put out is the energy we get back). We must look at ourselves and ask the tough questions: are we living lives in alignment with our soul values or are we letting culture, society, and other forms of external institutions and structures influence who we are to the detriment of our deepest held values? Saturn can give us the determination, commitment, and mastery needed to face ourselves and do the Great Work so that we can utilize the energy of the Nodes to be more fully embodied and empowered beings.

Chiron in Aries is sextile to Mars and Venus in Aquarius. Chiron moving through Aries has been a profound time to heal the wounds of inauthenticity. Every time we go against ourselves, we repress, suppress, or deny parts of who we are, we create a wound within our psyche. Every time someone else shames us, abuses us, or otherwise discourages our authentic expression, we create a wound within our psyche. Wounds are when we separate from who we really are, our I AMness, the authentic expression that each of us come into this life with, the will to be. With this healing energy flowing to Mars and Venus, we are able to take more inspired action from a truly healed and open heart.

Ceres in Gemini is in a trine with Mars and Venus. We are each born innocent, open, curious, and full of wonder and awe for life. When we can nurture that childlike innocence and wonder, we can live a life that is more fully authentic. Children don’t hold back anything. It is only wounded and traumatized adults who censor themselves and their authentic expression in the moment. How can you better nurture your inner child? How can you be more You?

Eris in Aries is in an approaching trine with the Galactic Center in Sagittarius. Another amazing energy to heal the wounds of inauthenticity. The Galactic Center is considered the womb of our galaxy and this Mother energy is infusing Eris with the strength and unconditional Love to invite all parts of Self a seat at the table. Only then can healing and integration happen. As within, so without.

Pluto is in a separating trine from the North Node in Taurus and a separating sextile from the South Node in Scorpio. Pluto is the Great Transformer in a very supportive aspect with the Nodes. How can we transform our unhealthy attachments, our control issues, our emotional baggage, our shadow so that we can be more grounded, embodied, authentic, empowered, in alignment with our soul values?

As always, it is a choice how we utilize the current energies. This Equinox is presenting us with a beautiful opportunity to move forward in our lives in a more healed, integrated, and embodied way, more aligned with what is in our hearts, our soul values, taking inspired actions that help us build a future that honors the interbeingness of life.

When the seed
Is finally ready
To become a tree
It is the living impulse
The will to be
The fire within
That burns hot and bright
I celebrate the turning
To day from night

*The term interbeingness came from a Charles Eisenstein interview in a documentary called Living the Change, where he talks about interbeing. We are not just simply interdependent with each other, the planet, and all of life, our very being is intertwined with others, the planet, and Life.
