On February 27, 2022 at 3:06am CST, Venus met up with the Moon at 24° Capricorn 18’. This has been such a profound portal because Venus went retrograde in Capricorn. Venus entered Capricorn on November 5, 2021 and met up with the Moon two days later, on November 7, 2021 at 2° Capricorn, for their first meeting. This is their fifth and final meeting in Capricorn for now.
Not only is Venus conjunct the Moon, but Venus is also approaching a conjunction with Mars and Pluto in Capricorn. With such a grouping of personal planets in Capricorn conjunct Pluto, we can be sure that transformation is on tap for us, whether we like it or not. Pluto is a very powerful archetype, and many people fear Pluto transits. Speaking from personal experience of having experienced many Pluto transits (and having my Sun conjunct Pluto in my birthchart), you will come out the other side more aligned with Divine Will and truly powerful. Pluto strips you of your ego and anything that stands in the way of your soul’s evolution. If something needs to be taken away from you, if you won’t let go of something that is holding you back, then Pluto will take it away. Pluto turns the caterpillar into the butterfly. The caterpillar doesn’t have a choice but to submit to the process of transformation. It must die to its old form so that it can be reborn the butterfly. Such is the way of Pluto transits. What can you let go of now so that you can willingly become the butterfly?
There is so much energy in Capricorn right now, and it is personal: Mars, the Moon, and Venus in Capricorn, the sign that has been host to Pluto since 2008. Pluto, the Lord of the Underworld, the planet of death and rebirth, of transformation. All things institutional, structural, systemic, anything that takes time to form, things that are manifest, achievements, accomplishments, things that involve dedication, commitment, and mastery, all is the domain of Capricorn. Perhaps you are looking around at your life and the world, and you realize that manifestation without heart wisdom is at best meaningless, and at worst, destructive.
Venus, the Moon, Mars, and Pluto in Capricorn are all sextile to Neptune in Pisces as well, bringing some much needed softness and compassion to what might be a painful transformation. How can we see the higher perspective that what we are losing needed to go? How can we surrender with ease and grace? How can we let go of the comfort zone and allow the current of life to carry us, trusting that we are heading somewhere even better?
Venus, the Moon, Mars, and Pluto are all trine to the North Node in Taurus and sextile the South Node in Scorpio. We want to embrace the North Node and release the South Node. The North Node in Taurus is asking us to fully be in the body, to “be here now,” as Ram Dass said. Embodiment can be challenging. It requires feeling your emotions. It might seem easier not to feel; to suppress, deny, repress, and even project your emotions onto others. But all that ends up doing is causing you distress, disease, and even psychosis. You disempower yourself, as well, as your emotions make you human. They allow you to be compassionate, feeling, empathetic, vulnerable, authentic. They are also a very valuable compass that points you in the direction of where you might have some healing, some shadow work to do.
The New Moon in Pisces is on March 2. The Moon is going to carry the message of Venus, Mars, and Pluto in Capricorn, and take it to the Sun in Pisces, where they will begin a new cycle conjunct Jupiter. This will be a powerful time to manifest big dreams. So allow yourself to be excavated of what no longer serves right now. Allow your heart wisdom (Venus) to lead you forward, rather than your past, your conditioning, and your comfort zone (the Moon). What the world needs now is those who can lead with heart wisdom, who embrace being human, who embrace the sacredness of life, and who can create a better world for all.
There were a total of five conjunctions of Venus and the Moon in Capricorn. If you want to dive deeper, think back to the previous conjunctions for themes. Here are the dates:
