Nodal Shift into Taurus – Scorpio: The pleasure of life

On December 24, the lunar nodes are shifting from Gemini – Sagittarius to Taurus – Scorpio. I am using the mean node. If you use the true node, then the shift doesn’t happen until January 18, 2022. Work with whichever one feels best to you. The Taurus – Scorpio axis is going to bring us down and into our human experience as Taurus and Scorpio are both feminine signs. Feminine here meaning receptive, descending, life-giving, embodied. Touch your body, put your feet on the earth, take a shower, drink a glass of water, go for a swim. You can easily feel the earth and water energies. Without them, there would be no life or physical experience.

I believe that humanity is at an important crossroads in our evolution. We have been marching towards this place for hundreds of years, perhaps when the Industrial Revolution began. We started moving more and more away from nature and the natural cycles of life and more towards machines and an artificial way of life. We are at a point now where we have a choice to make: do we want to become machines ourselves, completely cut off and separate from nature? Or do we want to reclaim our birthright as children of the Universe and be the stewards of this planet and life, reveling in the miracle of being a human on planet earth? I personally choose to be fully and completely human, reveling in my body and enjoying my life, in partnership with all other beings, knowing I am not separate from nature, but rather an integral and very important part of it.

The North Node is collectively where we are going, where we can experience the most growth and evolution, and it is in Taurus. Uranus is also in Taurus. I wrote a post about Uranus in Taurus. It is about choosing freedom. The North Node is going to be conjunct Uranus in July and into August, with a triple conjunction of the North Node, Uranus, and Mars in Taurus on the first few days of August. Our relationship with our body and our physical health and well-being, as well as how we view the production and distribution of food and other collective resources, and how we treat the planet and its other inhabitants in general are big themes with the North Node in Taurus.

Taurus is the most sensual sign in the zodiac. Taurus takes pleasure in the five, physical senses of seeing, hearing, tasting, smelling, and touching/feeling. Taurus is fixed on the earthly plane and is grounded in material reality. Taurus takes pleasure in being in a body and acts from a full embodied awareness. When you understand that everything is sacred, you understand that the material, physical world is also sacred. Your body becomes a sacred temple. You appreciate what creative powers you have in your body. You can build, tend, birth, nurture, grow, create, embrace, and all manner of magical activities with your body. You can have a true experience of yourself in form as you become fully aligned, body and soul, matter and spirit. Taurus in its highest expression is a soul fully embodied. You are completely aware of your divine origins while at the same time completely aware of your physical body and the experiences that being in a body facilitates. You are in synch with Gaia and the cycles of nature. You do not feel separate from Life in any way, but rather, more fully alive and vital. You honor your body and nature, and you are in command of the elements. You tend to your sacred garden, understanding that it is truly your divine reflection in matter.

Mantra for Taurus: I embody heaven and earth.

The South Node is collectively where we will see the shadow, where if we get stuck, we will miss the growth and evolution of Taurus. Scorpio in its shadow expression is control, power over, emotional manipulation, secrecy, sexual depravity; any attempt to control, manipulate, or have power over another, you are seeing the dark side of Scorpio. However, Scorpio is incredibly empowering and transformational in its highest expression.

Transformation is defined as: “a thorough or dramatic change in form or appearance; a metamorphosis during the life cycle of an animal; in physics, the induced or spontaneous change of one element into another by a nuclear process.” I love the mythology of the Phoenix, which I consider the true symbol of Scorpio. A Phoenix rises triumphant from its own ashes. Scorpio is the sign of alchemy, of transforming lead into gold, of learning how to harness the power of emotions to propel your life forward in a positive and consciousness-expanding way. Emotions show you where you are out of alignment with your authentic Self. Empowered Scorpios have gone to the underworld and brought back their treasures, are not afraid of the dark and the shadows in themselves or others, and emanate a real power that can be felt from anyone who comes into contact with them. It is a power that does not need the approval of others or need to exert itself over others. It just is.

Mantra for Scorpio: I am the one who rises out of the ashes of what no longer serves me and reclaims my power.

Ultimately, the physical experience can be one of pleasure. Taurus is sensual pleasure and Scorpio is sexual pleasure. Taurus is physical well-being and Scorpio is emotional well-being. Taurus is embodiment of soul and Scorpio is the power to use our life force to create our lives in alignment with soul. Taurus is what we value and our resources and Scorpio is how we share our resources and merge with life based upon what we value. Life is truly a divine gift and sacred experience. Living is an experience of joy and pleasure. If you don’t wake up every day glad to be alive, what are you doing? Is that really living or are you simply existing? Let the nodal shift into Taurus – Scorpio help you embody and experience the pleasure of life.
