In order to fully understand Aquarius, you must understand Leo as well. The Leo – Aquarius axis is the axis of authentic self-expression. I know these energies well. I have Leo on my MC and Aquarius on my IC and Uranus is conjunct my Ascendant with only a few minutes difference. It is my intention to pass on my experiential wisdom on these energies as it is needed now at this time.
Let’s look at Leo first. Leo is a fire sign, and the Sun is most at home in Leo. Leo energy, in its highest manifestation, is the king or queen who fully expresses themselves from their hearts with vulnerability, courage, and creativity. Leo just shines because it is the most natural thing in the world to be who you are. After all, the Sun just shines, giving us light, warmth, and life.
Unfortunately, however, most people have traumas, wounds, conditioning, and other shadow hiding their authentic selves. How many times are children told to be quiet, to sit down, to not be seen or heard, to be more like others, to stop causing trouble, that they are too much? Every time someone gets shamed, punished, or ostracized for being who they are, a little bit of themselves gets repressed and the shadow begins to form.
Aquarius is the other side of the axis. It is the last air sign and the next to last sign of the zodiac, and Uranus is most at home in Aquarius. Aquarius energy, in its highest manifestation, is the one who knows themselves, and through that knowledge, is able to contribute to the good of all in a meaningful way. Aquarius is genius, out-of-the-box, unique, freedom-loving, quantum, and humanitarian. Aquarius wants to give of themselves to their communities, whatever that means to them.
But how can you truly contribute your unique note to the symphony of life if you don’t even know who you are? There is a lot of talk right now of the “collective good,” but most people don’t realize that that term is being used to keep people in line with a false narrative. No one benefits from a lack of freedom to be your unique self, to make your own choices, even if that means making mistakes, failing, or even dying. You are a spark of the Divine, and you are born inherently free to be and do you, to act upon what is in your heart and soul. No one else has the right to tell you who you are or what you should or must do. Divine law is above human law, and it is time to align ourselves with that truth. There are things that are far worse than death. Not being free to express yourself fully and authentically, not being able to have control over your own body and mind, not being able to live a life of your own choosing.
The shadow of Aquarius is not knowing who you are so that you are easily controlled by groups and “authority” figures, group think, feeling emotionally detached and separate from yourself, others, and life, and not being the authentic spark of the Divine that you incarnated to be. There is never going to be another chance to be and do you, so when you don’t bud into the flower you were born to be, the world loses out on your inherent beauty. You will not contribute your unique note to the symphony of life. We all lose because of it.
