My astrology pet-peeves

You are what you believe yourself to be

My number one pet-peeve is using astrology to “predict” the future. I have studied how our mind works and how beliefs determine our reality. We live in a quantum, energetic Universe of unlimited possibilities and “reality” is not solid at all but made up of waves that become particles when focused upon by consciousness. We are all at different levels of consciousness. Astrology is a tool of empowerment that can help people understand the light and shadow sides of the archetypes so they can work with their own energies. Everyone has the capability of unfolding majestically in this lifetime and the responsibility to make their own choices. If you are letting someone else tell you “how it is,” then you are disempowering yourself.

Along with this comes my pet-peeve of traditional astrology’s “good” and “bad” aspects and terms like fall, detriment, exalted, etc. used to describe planets in certain signs. You have the perfect chart for you and what your soul wanted to experience in this lifetime. Squares are no more challenging than a trine if you apply focused effort on a square and utilize the benefit of the trine. You can just as easily let a trine atrophy. Your soul wants you to unfold into your brilliance and gave you the tools to do so. It is called your natal chart.

Another pet-peeve are the endless astrological techniques out there. If you only ever learn how to deeply read your natal chart, you will be far ahead of anyone who doesn’t know their own astrology. Your natal chart will continue to reveal itself to you in layers as you yourself evolve in consciousness. You will never look at your natal chart the same way twice. It is fine to learn other techniques, but it is not necessary.

Static and one-dimensional astrology is another pet-peeve of mine. Imagine the natal chart like an upward moving spiral. The archetypes are evolving through you. One person’s Mars in Gemini will be different from another person’s Mars in Gemini. They have to be taken in context with the rest of the chart and the consciousness of the person whose chart you are looking at. The archetypes are as multidimensional as you are.

The last pet-peeve is when astrological descriptions of planets and signs are skewed towards the shadow qualities and negate the light qualities. All planets and signs have their lowest, shadow expressions and their highest, light expressions. And then there are all of the gray, in-between expressions. You can choose consciously to work with your unique energies and move the expression of your archetypes ever closer towards their highest expressions. Knowing your natal chart, accepting your uniqueness, and developing daily practices to maximize your unique energies is how you express the highest potential in your chart and live your fullest expression.

This is just my opinion, and I welcome people to respectfully disagree with me. I respect everyone’s right to practice astrology as they see fit for them.
