I feel Virgo to be one of the most misunderstood signs in the zodiac. I don’t think people really understand Virgo or the true meaning of the Virgin Priestess (Temple Priestess) because the feminine has been so repressed (in men and women) for thousands of years now. The highest expression of Virgo is discernment. Knowing yourself and your energy so well that you know when something is out of resonance with you, when something does not feel right or true for you, and you are able to use your sword of discernment to cut away that which does not serve you in the highest and best way.
The Virgin Priestess (Temple Priestess) was the woman who was sovereign over herself and her body. She was owned by no man and could consort with whomever she wanted. The true Priest or Priestess is the one who tends their eternal flame (their soul) in their holy temple (their body) by understanding that their lives are sacred. Every moment is a precious gift, and every thing we think, say, or do in our daily life is an expression of our divinity. The Priest or Priestess is devoted to refining and purifying themselves because they know they are the Great Work. There is no greater service to Life or Creation than keeping your hearth flame burning bright and pure. Others can feel the warmth from your hearth fire and know Truth.
