Libra: The power of equilibrium

I understand Libra very well. My Sun, Pluto, and Mercury all reside in Libra. I am definitely learning balance in this lifetime. What most people don’t really understand is that balance is a dynamic process. You don’t achieve balance. You can only ever maintain balance. It is an internal state of equilibrium. Dictionary.com defines equilibrium as: “a state of rest or balance due to the equal action of opposing forces.” Consider it the balance of our inner feminine and masculine, the yin and the yang. It is a truly alchemical process. We are the Great Work, and as long as you are alive, you are doing that “work.”

Ma’at was an Egyptian Goddess, the daughter of the Sun God Ra, who met souls when they died with a set of scales. She would place their heart on one side, and on the other side was a feather. If the scale was balanced, you passed on to the heavenly realms. If your heart was heavy, burdened by “evil” and “sin,” your soul was devoured by Ammit. Ammit was a soul-eating monster. It sounds pretty gruesome to me. The moral of the tale is this: your truth lies within your heart, your soul, and as long as you follow that truth, your heart will be lighter than a feather, and you will be unburdened by the evil and sin of not sounding your unique note in the symphony of Life. The greatest evil anyone can perpetrate is telling someone else who they should be or what they should do, and the greatest sin anyone can commit is giving over their power of choice to something or someone outside of themselves.

Balance is an inner state, and it can only be achieved by following your inner truth.
